Man held for duping many with offer of Mumbai airport jobs

Mumbai: A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly promising people work at the city airport and duping them of their valuables. The police said that the accused, Lloyd D'souza, used to take the job aspirants to the airport where he would take their valuables "to get a customs pass made" and then vanish.
He would sell the booty and use the money to splurge at casinos in Goa, the police said.
D'souza's game was up last Monday when he called up two professional photographers for a "photo shoot on contract" at the airport. He made away with the two cameras and lenses of a total worth of over Rs 2 lakh.
He was tracked down on the basis of call record data of the cellphone number from which he had contacted one of the photographers, Ramprasad Sharma, asking the two to meet him at the international airport.
A police officer said that D'souza would get hold of his targets by calling up a phone services directory from where he would source their contact numbers.
