Kolhapur: The much-awaited Mumbai-Kolhapur-Mumbai flight service resumed from Sunday with the arrival of TruJet flight at around 1.50 pm.
According to Kolhapur airport director Kamalkumar Kataria, as many as 63 passengers arrived from Mumbai with the inaugural flight of TruJet while around 42 passengers departed for Mumbai.
He added that there were some slot-related issues since the last few days. However, they have now been fixed and the flight service will be available for five days a week, except Monday and Friday.
Kataria added that the timings of the flight have been changed. The flight from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport will depart for Kolhapur on the said days at 12.20 pm and will reach its detination by 1.35 pm. Likewise, the flight for Mumbai will depart from Kolhapur airport at 1.50 pm and will arrive in Mumbai at 3.00 pm. The fare for the flight is around Rs 2,025 for both the routes.
“We kept it a very low-key affair due to the recent floods. However, we will celebrate the occasion later this year. On Sunday, a 77-year old lady passenger was given the honour of cake cutting for the Mumbai-bound flight,” he said.
