Agartala: The Airport Authority
of India (AAI) is embarking into an ambitious
plan to resume operation in abandoned
airfield at Kailashahar in North Tripura
under Unokoti district by 2021, as ministry of
tourism and culture made an elaborate plan
to bring Unokoti archaeological site, famous
for huge-rock cut sculptures of 15thcentury.
The official sources here today stated that AAI has already started necessary renovation work to re-open Kailashahar airport, which will further intensify from next month.
AAI estimated that a large number of people living in Unokoti, Dhalai, North Tripura, South Assam, bordering Mizoram and neighbouring Bangladesh have been flying every day from Agartala now.
