Ahmedabad-bound flyers at Pune airport fume over SpiceJet flight’s long delay

Pune: Passengers booked on a SpiceJet flight to Ahmedabad on Thursday night were stranded at the city airport for over seven hours because of delayed arrival of the inbound plane.

Passengers were extremely frustrated with the inordinate flight delay. They claimed that the ground team of the airline did not provide them with proper answers to their queries.
“Zero customer satisfaction as we are waiting for the flight for the past eight hours. There is no transparency and passengers are being bluffed. The staffers are rude and clueless,” Dolly Sharma, a passenger, wrote on Twitter.

The flight (SG524) was scheduled to take off from the city at 9pm on Thursday. It was finally airborne around 4.35am on Friday, a source said.

The airline representatives did not respond to a query regarding the cause of the long delay till going to press.

A source said the inbound flight got delayed because an issue cropped up in Ahmedabad. “After coming to Pune as SG523 from Ahmedabad, the same aircraft goes back to the Gujarat city as SG524. The delay in Ahmedabad had a cascading effect in Pune too,” the source said.
