Air service between Nashik and Pune gets operational

Nashik: The much anticipated air service between Nashik and Pune started from Sunday. The Alliance Air flight headed for Pune took off from Ozar airport at 10.30 am on Sunday.
This flight will be operated under the Regional Connectivity Scheme - UDAN. The route has been awarded to Alliance Air to bolster regional connectivity under “Connecting India” mission of the government. All flights will operate with a 70 seater ATR-72.
The air service has come as a great relief for commuters between Nashik and Pune given the huge rush on the Nashik-Pune highway and the absence of rail connectivity.
The inaugural flight from Nashik saw 15 passengers from Nashik to Pune, while 38 passengers from Pune travelled to Nashik informed officials of Alliance Air.
