Bihar youth suffers cardiac arrest mid-air, dies

Patna: A 22-year-old youth died after suffering cardiac arrest while traveling in budget carrier SpiceJet flight from Hyderabad to Patna on Sunday morning. The deceased passenger has been identified as Gulfam Khan, a native of Rashidpur in Madhubani district.
According to the executives of SpiceJet airlines at Patna airport, the passenger suffered cardiac arrest in mid-air and later died on his way to hospital. "The flyer complained about pain in his chest and discomfort 15 minutes before the flight was scheduled to land here at Jayaprakash Narayan International (JPNI) Airport, Patna," the executives told TOI on Sunday.
SpiceJet flight (SG-731), which took off from Hyderabad airport at 8am, reached Patna airport at 9.55am. As soon as the flight landed at Patna airport, the cabin crew wheeled the youth to airport medical unit from where he was referred to a private hospital. The youth died on his way to the hospital.
