Four held for harassing two air hostesses

Chennai: The Sankar Nagar police on Saturday arrested four men, all staff of a supermarket in Pallavaram, for waylaying, robbing and harassing two air hostesses.
Misha, 29, of Punjab, and Poorva, 21, of Rajasthan, work with Air India. After finishing work, they had gone to watch a movie in a theatre in Pallavaram on Friday night.
When they were heading back home on their two-wheeler, at around 1.30 a.m., they were waylaid by four unknown persons under a bridge near the Thiruneermalai Junction. The two women raised an alarm and fended off the gang from snatching their handbags.
The four men, however, took their two-wheeler and escaped.
After alerting the police control room, the women lodged a complaint at the Shankar Nagar police station.
After scrutiny of CCTV footage and call records of mobile phones, a special team of the police, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Pallavaram, Devaraj, apprehended four suspects — Shine, 23; Prem Kumar, 22; Avinash, 23, all from Pallavaram; and Senthikumar, 28, of Perungalathur.
