Trichy: Customs officials found 1.49kg of gold abandoned in an Air India Express plane that landed at Trichy airport from Sharjah in the early hours of Thursday.
Customs officials said they found a bundle in the aircraft, opened it and found 1.49 kg of gold, worth Rs 57.16 lakh.
Investigations were on to ascertain the passenger who had abandoned gold in the plane.
