Mumbai: There is no trace of 58-year-old Deepak Panchal, contract engineer with Air India, who went missing a month ago. Andheri police has filed a case of kidnap on October 24. However, a missing case was lodged on October 3 by his family members who claimed cops are delaying the probe.
Panchal had gone missing on September 29 after he left his brother's Andheri home without a word. Panchal's nephew, Vishal, told TOI, "He left at 9am after taking Rs 100 from my father (his elder brother). The previous day he told my mother to tell anyone who asks that he will not be available for two days."
Police found he visited a place in Lokhandwala before heading towards Surat. Since then his phone has been switched off. Lawyer Falguni Brahmbhatt tweeted on October 25: "Deepak Amritlal Panchal has been kidnapped... on September 29. But unfortunately @Mumbai Police has no time to trace him..."
