One flight diverted, 2 cancelled, 31 delayed

Panaji: Air passengers to and from Goa International Airport had a tough time on Friday as several flights were affected due to poor weather conditions caused by cyclonic storm Kyaar, an airport official said.
Sources said, one flight was diverted to Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, while two flights were cancelled and 31 delayed. Flights were delayed by at least an hour as cascading delays disrupted the flight schedules, said sources.
“Minor delays were there but no major incident was reported,” said Goa airport director Gagan Malik.
An IndiGo flight from Chennai to Goa which was scheduled to land at 6.15am was unable to land at the first attempt due to strong winds and heavy showers. The flight kept circling over Goa till weather conditions improved.
According to FlightRadar24, a SpiceJet flight from Chennai to Goa was cancelled but no reason was given.
