Ticketing plan: Reply to probe plea, HC tells AI

New Delhi: The Delhi HC has asked Air India to respond to a PIL seeking a CBI probe into the national carrier's move to migrate its ticketing system data to a private platform.
A bench of Justices G S Sistani and A J Bhambhani sought AI's stand on the plea which argues it is "reckless and insane" and would severely undermine AI's revival plans, besides restricting choices for flyers in terms of pricing and tickets.
In its reply filed in the HC opposing the plea , AI also questioned the locus of the petitioner, Ratan Soli Luth, to question its decision by way of a PIL, arguing that as a global airline it is entitled to take its own commercial decisions. The HC has asked it to respond by December to a fresh allegation raised in the plea which says that tax-payer money is being put into AI, which has incurred losses of crores of rupees.
