Visakhapatnam: Thai Smile—a subsidiary of Thai Airways—plans to start operations from the city following the withdrawal of direct services by Thai Air Asia from Visakhapatnam to Thailand last month.
Discussions on starting services were recently held between Thai Airways officials and travel agents in the city.
Watcharaphon Singngeon, GM of Thai Airways, along with other officials from the airlines discussed the possibility of direct services to and from the city.
The airlines plans to start services from Visakhapatnam International Airport from January 2020 as part of its winter schedule. The service will operate thrice a week, said sources.
