Flyers in city irked by delay in flights

Patna: Flyers at Jayaprakash Narayan International (JPNI) Airport in Patna were left in the lurch as several flights got delayed on Sunday, causing chaotic situation in the terminal building throughout the day. The airlines executives were clueless about the delay and failed to answer the queries of passengers.
Most of the flights were delayed due to weather turbulence in Kolkata under the influence of Cyclone Bulbul. In view of cyclone, Kolkata airport issued an alert, which was retweeted by Patna airport on Sunday morning. “TRAVEL ALERT: In view of the weather warning by @Indiametdept over #CycloneBulbul, passengers travelling through #KolkataAirport are advised to contact the concerned airlines for any change in the flight timings (sic),” the tweet reads.
Executives of GoAir at Patna airport advised the flyers to check the status of their flights on mobile application ‘flight radar 24’. “Rather than facing inconvenience, it is advisable that passengers check the status of their flights or ask the airline executives on helpline numbers. Some flights on different routes are affected because their air route is from Kolkata,” the executives said.
