More facilities at Jaipur airport for passengers

Jaipur: In a move to decongest passengers’ arrival and departure area at Jaipur airport, the authorities are planning additional arrival and departure gates at Terminal 2. As the number of passengers is increasing every year with availability of affordable flights to various destinations, the authorities are attempting to bring new amenities for smooth travel. Even number of boarding gates for different flights has increased from five to seven and the airport now has five conveyor belts for luggage.
As per the data available with the Jaipur airport authorities, in 2018-19 nearly 55,00,000 passengers travelled from the airport (domestic and foreign travellers). “This year, from April 1 to October 30, at least 28,00,000 passengers have travelled. Thus, we have decided to increase the arrival and departure gates to facilitate passengers,” said Jaideep Singh Balhara, director, Jaipur airport.
He added that with the continous increase in the number of passengers there is a need to enhance facilities and utilize the area in a manner that passenger don’t get stuck up in delays during their departures and arrivals.
He said the authorities are working on modalities to provide extra room at departure and arrival areas. “Earlier we had five boarding gates which included international and domestic flights. Now we have increased them to seven,” he added.
