No parking fee for staying over 8 mins at Jaipur airport porch

Jaipur: The Airports Authority of India (AAI), Jaipur, on Friday abolished the previous system of charging money from vehicles staying at the porch area to receive or drop passengers for more than eight minutes.

Though there would be no time limit for vehicles coming to receive and drop passengers, marshals and security personnel will ensure that traffic movement is not affected.

AAI on Friday introduced new vehicle parking policy as well wherein the prices for parking for various categories of vehicles have been classified for various time slots.

AAI director Jaideep Balhara said, “Earlier, vehicles coming to the porch were required to receive and drop passengers within eight minutes. After that, they were charged money. On entry, the vehicles were given a token on which their arrival time was mentioned. During departure, if they had overstayed, there was a system of charging some amount.”

“In the new system, there would be no time limit for vehicles. However, it will be ensured that no vehicle overstays after picking up passengers or dropping them at the terminal,” Balhara added.
