Star Air launches operation from Hubballi to Delhi today

Hubballi: The much-awaited service to the national capital will become a reality from Wednesday as Star Air is all set to launch its flights to Hindon (Delhi) from Hubballi.
It’s all thanks to the Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme which has helped Hubballi to get connected with other destinations and enabled the common man travel by air at an affordable cost. Hubballi airport, which was developed to international standard at a cost of Rs 130 crore, has become a favourite choice for many private airlines to launch services to other cities. UDAN is a flagship project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Now, IndiGo airlines, Air India and Star Air operate their flights to various destinations from Hubballi. IndiGo operates flights to Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Goa, Kochi and Kannur, Air India operates flights to Bengaluru and Mumbai.
Earlier, SpiceJet operated flights from Hubballi to Delhi via Mumbai, but it had to suspend its service after a SpiceJet aircraft veered off the runway while landing at Hubballi airport a few years ago. Since then, there has been no air connectivity to Delhi from Hubballi.
According to sources from Star Air, it’ll operate non-stop flights between Hubballi and Hindon (Delhi) every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
