Mumbai : GVK Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) managing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) opens additional boarding gates at Terminal 1 of Domestic Airport. The Terminal will witness operations of 8 additional boarding gates in order to ease passenger travel. This step taken by Mumbai International Airport Limited will help provide convenience to passengers travelling via the Terminal, thereby benefitting both the airlines as well as the passengers.
With the recent move of unification of operations at Terminal 1 and 2 for domestic flights, which saw transformation of IndiGo, GoAir and Air Asia operating out of Terminal 1, there has been an increase in passenger traffic in the last few months. Starting December 6, Terminal 1 will be operating 8 additional boarding gates in order to ease passenger traffic due to the increase number of flights flying out of Terminal 1. These unused gates will now ensure a harmonious experience to passengers and thereby improve smooth functioning at the airport.
Having catered to over 48 million passengers in 2018-19, MIAL understands the need and comfort of the passengers by ensuring it enhances its infrastructure and timely upgrades its operations in order to meet the increasing passenger in flow demand. The airport reaches out to 52 domestic destinations in India and bring new innovative changes in order to cater to the patrons travelling out of Mumbai.
