CISF recovers foreign currency worth over Rs 25 lakh at Delhi's IGI Airport

New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Saturday seized a high volume of foreign currency at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi.

The foreign currency in Indian currency amounted to Rs 25.13 lakh.

Five in the morning at IGI, CISF observed two passengers suspiciously wandering in check-in area of Terminal 3. The CISF closely monitored their movements for a while. Soon, they were detained and were checked thoroughly.

Both the detained passengers are Indians. They were going to Dubai when they were detained.

When their bags were checked, the CISF noticed suspicious things inside their bags. It was found that they were carrying 1,00,000 Saudi Riyal and 4,000 Qatar Riyal apart from 3,000 Omani Riyal.
