Jeddah: A passenger plane had to make an emergency landing in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, after a Telugu passenger who was travelling to India suffered a heart attack. The flight was en route from New York to Abu Dhabi on Friday evening, made an emergency landing at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
60-year old Bala Nagamma, native of Kadapa, who was with her son Suresh in New York, was returning to India through a gulf carrier when she began to feel unwell in the mid-air, according to her family. The medical team at the airport responded quickly to the emergency and the patient was rushed to a local hospital in Riyadh where she is being admitted in ICU and her condition is stable now, they added.
Nagamma ticket is not covering the health care and cost of treatment is now equally concerned for the family. Almost all Telugu state passengers travel Northern America and other parts of the world through gulf-based carriers. Mid-Air health issues often reported among elderly patients who were on way to their families in abroad or back to home.
