Air India red-eye flight from Coimbatore to Delhi to be operated on all days

Coimbatore: Air India will again start operating its red-eye flight (flight departing at night and arriving in the morning) from Coimbatore to New Delhi on all seven days of the week from January 15.
This makes Coimbatorians easily access the connection to flights to European destinations.

The flight, which used to be operated on all days of the week, was reduced to thrice a week from November 1. The airline is also working on introducing an additional morning direct flight to the capital.

The red-eye flight, AI 548, departs from Coimbatore at 1.10am and reaches New Delhi at 4.10am. This will allow passengers to seamlessly board flights headed to all European destinations like Frankfurt, Rome, Milan, Copenhagen, London, Vienna and others.

“Most of the Air India flights to Europe from New Delhi are scheduled in the afternoon -- from 12.30 pm onwards till around 3pm,” said Air India station manager, Girija Ramesh.

The airline’s afternoon flight to New Delhi, AI 539, leaving at 3.05pm and reaching at 6.05 pm, connects fliers to flights to the US and Canada. “All those flights depart from 10.30pm till 2.30am. So they can seamlessly go to the respective terminal and board,” said Ramesh.
