Mumbai: Airlines will connect Mumbai to seven additional overseas desinations in
countries such as China and Russia, the operator of India’s second busiest airport said
Friday.
At least 10 airlines such as Garuda Indonesia, Jazeera Airways, Air Italy, RwandAir, Air Tanzania, Star Air, Virgin Atlantic, Delta Air Lines and Uzbekistan Airways started flights from Mumbai last year. Flights from the airport ferry passengers to 108--47 international and 61 domestic-- destinations.
It handled close to 49 million passengers in the financial year 2018-19. “On an average the airport has introduced two new international airlines every year since 2007,” said the GVK Power & Infra led airport operator.
Also last year, Air Mauritius introduced its new Airbus A330 Neo and A350 aircraft while Singapore Airline introduced its new and refurbished A380 jumbo jet.
