Delhi fog fades, flight services improve at Lohegaon

Pune: Flight services from the city airport were slightly better on Tuesday than a day before with the weather condition in the national capital showing signs of improvement.
Around 10 flights reaching and leaving the city were delayed between 6am and 6pm on Tuesday. In contrast, over 20 flights were delayed on Monday. No flight was cancelled on Tuesday as against Monday’s six cancellations.

“Flight movements remained largely normal (on Tuesday). The number of delays was less and the durations were moderate. The Delhi airport authorities tweeted in the morning that all their flight operations were normal,” an official at the Lohegaon airport said.

“Flights to destinations such as Hyderabad, Ozar, Bengaluru, Goa and Ahmedabad were delayed. But the situation was not as chaotic as Monday’s,” the official said.

The situation improved following a change in the condition in the North. “Clear weather, no fog. All flight operations are normal at the Delhi airport,” the Twitter handle of the Delhi airport posted on Tuesday.
Advisories for the flyers, however, poured in from many airlines about destinations other than Delhi. SpiceJet stated, “Due to bad weather at Kanpur and Varanasi, all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected.” Vistara mentioned that flights to and from Varanasi could be affected because of the bad weather.
