Dubai bound flight from Philippines diverted to Kolkata after passenger complained chest pain

Kolkata: A Dubai bound flight from Manila in Philippines was diverted to Kolkata and it made an emergency landing at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International airport on Wednesday evening after one of the passengers on board complained of chest pain and the pilot sought for a medical emergency landing.

The Dubai bound Cebu Pacific airline flight 5J-14 had started from Manila around 2.35pm with 388 passengers and while it was flying near the Indian airspace, a passenger Ramos Virgilo complained of chest pain and uneasiness. The pilot contacted the nearest air traffic control unit at Kolkata airport and landed at the city airport around 7pm.
After descending, the passenger was brought out of the plane and was checked by a team of doctors at the airport before he was rushed to Charnock Hospital on VIP Road at 8.15pm where he was attended by doctors of the emergency department.
