Tanzanian family stranded at KIA terminal for 6 days

A Tanzanian national along with her two young children had to spend the last six days at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) as they were denied entry into India by immigration authorities after being deported from Male.
The Tanzanian national along with her children had boarded an Air India flight to Male from KIA last week;
however, on arrival she was denied entry into Maldives and was deported back to Bengaluru.
Sources told Bangalore Mirror that though the family of three were holding valid Indian and Maldivian visas, they were denied entry into Maldives due to insufficient funds and no hotel reservation.
They were sent back to Bengaluru on an Air India flight and upon arrival they were denied entry into India by immigration authorities.
“The family had booked tickets with Air Tanzania to fly back to Dar Es Salaam via Mumbai. However, Air Tanzania refused to fly them and the family was stranded at Bengaluru since January 9,” sources said.
