Vistara turns five

Vistara, a full-service carrier and a joint venture of Indian conglomerate Tata Group and Singapore Airlines launched its operations from January 9, 2015, with only two aircraft and two destinations on the map.

Currently, the airline has a total of 39 aircraft in operations flying to 34 destinations worldwide and has flown over 20 million passengers. Indian carrier Vistara also began its international by offering daily flights to Singapore, from August 2019 onwards.

Vistara continues to grow rapidly across India and abroad, as it is poised to induct over 50 narrow-body and wide-body aircraft over the next four years, including Airbus A320neo and Airbus A321neo for domestic and international short and medium-haul operations and Boeing B787-9 for long-haul international operations.

A thriving name in the Indian aviation sector, it looks like Vistara has several  things going in its favour. One such thing is their superior product, a premium economy class – an emerging segment globally.
In terms of codeshares, in 2019, Vistara signed a codeshare agreement with United Airlines. This agreement expanded the US carrier’s network to over 20 destinations throughout India.
