Air India Inaugurates Mumbai – Stansted Route

Air India has inaugurated its second long haul route to London Stansted Airport. The route sees a Boeing 787 Dreamliner flying between Mumbai and London three times per week.
India’s flag carrier is slowly showing that London Stansted can be a gateway to the world. Last year, the airline launched the airport’s second current long haul flight. Now, the airport, which is home too low-cost carrier Ryanair, has two long haul carriers flying to three destinations. This will increase even further when El Al returns to the airport for the first time in over a decade later this year.
The arrival of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner yesterday indicated the start of a new beginning for flights between Mumbai and London. The route to London Stansted becomes the second operated by Air India to the London low-cost hub. Last year Air India also launched flights from Amritsar to London Stansted using the Boeing 787.
The service between Mumbai and London Stansted will operate three times per week. A Boeing 787 will depart from Mumbai for the service on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
