Coronavirus: Screening at Bangla border, Agartala airport

Agartala: The Tripura health department on Saturday reiterated that nobody in the state had contracted the novel coronavirus (nCoV) and health screening facilities have been installed at India-Bangladesh checkpost and Agartala airport.

Director of health and family welfare Dr Radha Debbarma said the health screening had been installed after the ministry of health issued an alert against nCoV and that the health department had been continuously monitoring people entering into the state from affected countries.

Debbarma said the health department has identified 22 people who recently returned from nCov-affected countries such as China, Singapore and Thailand, but no one has tested positive. The department asked the 22 people to stay alert and remain in touch with state-run isolation ward at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC).
