Pune airport tries to improve social media outreach

Pune: The Pune airport’s official Twitter handle has suddenly come alive, in a bid to be more passenger-friendly.
“The idea is to be active on social media and interact with the passengers. This emphasizes that the airport listens to its valuable passengers and that their feedback is essential,” an airport official said.
On Saturday, when an international passenger, Shamsuddin S Kazi, tagged the airport’s handle and tweeted about the limitations of the free Wi-Fi service at the facility: “But what about the free Wi-Fi in the Pune airport? Being an International Airport if free Wi-Fi is not available then credibility of the AAI is questionable (sic).”
This immediately elicited a response: “Sir free Wi-Fi is available at our airport for 30 minutes for Indian SIM card holders. We regret it is not available for international SIM card holders but we are making efforts to make it available very soon.”
