Ahmedabad: A flyer in inebriated condition — Madanlal Prajapat, 31, of Bengaluru — created a bomb scare at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Saturday by claiming that his bag contained an explosive device. This put the airport staff on high alert and police were called in. However, nothing suspicious was found in his bag.
“We found that the passenger was drunk and was trying to create panic at Terminal-1, Counter 13 of the domestic airport,” said inspector K C Rathwa of the airport police station. “He seemed to be in a hurry to get out of the airport and that is why he created a bomb scare. He was arrested on Saturday and is currently out on bail.”
The FIR was lodged by assistant head constable Dhansukh Gulabbhai. “We have arrested him under the Prohibition Act and sections 110 and 117 for creating a ruckus at the airport and giving false information about a bomb in the bag,” said a police official.
