CM Nitish Kumar seeks cancellation of air services

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday urged the Centre to cancel all Bihar-bound flights for some days in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.

Nitish spoke to Union civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri over phone and requested him to cancel all Bihar-bound flights in order to check further spread of Covid-19 in the region, an official of chief minister’s office (CMO) told TOI.

Bihar has two operating airports at Patna and Gaya.

Nitish further thanked the Centre for cancelling the operation of all passengers’ trains and inter-state buses from Sunday on his request.

“I had made a request to the Centre for cancelling operation of passengers’ trains and inter-state-buses in the wake of Covid-19,” Nitish said in a press note issued from his office.
