Goa: Gold worth over Rs 1 crore seized at Dabolim airport

Vasco: Customs officials of the air intelligence unit (AIU) at Dabolim International airport seized gold bars worth over Rs 1 crore from the rear toilet of an Air India flight on Saturday.
Customs officials who were conducting a routine check of the flight on its arrival from Dubai, found the pouch containing three gold bars, weighing 992g each, amounting to Rs 1.1 crore.
The pouch had been concealed in the cavity behind the commode, in a blind area of the aircraft, the officials said. The gold has been seized under the provisions of the Customs Act 1962.
