North East India airports brace for coronavirus, AAI steps up screening measures

Guwahati: The Airport Authority of India (AAI) is keeping a strict vigil over 12 airports in the North East India amid increasing coronavirus infection numbers in the country - with over 3,000 dead across the world.

The AAI has stepped up its screening of coronavirus at Guwahati airport and other airports in the region.

All passengers de-boarding international and domestic flights have been screened for coronavirus, or Covid-19, at the airports.

To curb the threat of coronavirus in India, the AAI has set up several screening and testing centres at the airports.
