Thermal screening of passengers begins at Nashik airport

Nashik: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has started thermal screening of passengers arriving at the Ozar airport, located 20 km from the city, in view of rising number of Covid-19 cases in the state.

“We have started thermal screening of the passengers arriving from Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad from Tuesday evening as a part of precautionary measures,” said sources at HAL.
Airline operators said that there has been a huge fall in the passenger traffic because of coronavirus, especially in the Nashik-Pune-Nashik sector. At present, Nashik is connected with Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.

“We have sought the help of medical practitioners from the state primary health centres for thermal screening. We had meeting with the medical practitioners, who will also impart training to the staff of airlines and security personnel at the airport. The training workshop will be held on Thursday,” said the HAL sources.

“Moreover, we have provided sanitisers for passengers arriving or departing from the airport,” said the sources.

Sources in Alliance Air said there has been a huge drop in the number of passengers. “Earlier, 50-60 passengers would travel in a 72-seater flight in Pune and Hydrabad sectors, but only 15-20 passengers are flying now.”
