11 ‘close contacts’ of Air India pilot traced in Imphal

Manipur health department on Tuesday said 11 ‘close contacts’ of an Air India pilot, who spent three nights from March 17-19 at Imphal, after his return from New York, have been traced.

This was informed by the additional director of Manipur health department and spokesperson of the department, Dr. Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Dr Mangang said: “Although asymptomatic, they are under surveillance now and their samples will be tested at VRDL, RIMS.”

The health department spokesperson has urged the people not to panic.
“The public is advised not to be panicky,” Dr Mangang stated.
