Air ticket booking begins amid uncertainties

Dharmashala: Even though flight operators have started online booking of Dharamshala-Delhi tickets, the fate of actual operations remains uncertain. Airline officials were also unclear whether the travellers arriving here will be allowed local movement.

Kangra airport is the busiest airport of Himachal Pradesh. It had four flights daily from Delhi and also had connectivity with Chandigarh until the halting of operations in the wake of Covid-19 outbreak.

The portals accepting bookings are showing two flights for April 15 and three for the day next. SpiceJet and Air India used to operate here, with two flights each, and the portals are taking bookings for both.

Travel agents said they are also not clear about the actual status. If flights are cancelled then airlines will not refund money, but they would allow us to use the same as credit for a fixed period of time.

Kangra deputy commissioner Rakesh Kumar Prajapati said meetings are underway with the airport authorities and things would become clear soon. “Once other things get settled, everything will become clear,” he added.
