Imphal: Over one lakh Spasmo-Proxyvon tablets brought by cargo flights were seized at Imphal airport, while a large quantity of Myanmar cigarettes was confiscated in Thoubal district, in the past 24 hours. One S Vikash (33) of Lamboi khongnang-khong area in Imphal west, who came to the airport to collect the drugs, was held on Saturday, police sources said.
This came barely a month after a large quantity of betel leaves worth over Rs 1 crore were seized from the airport.
Meanwhile, police also seized 950 boxes of Myanamarese cigarettes containing 9,500 packets and held two persons at Heirok area in Thoubal district on Sunday morning. The duo - Anand Singh (25) and Mahesh L (21) - both residents of the Heirok area, were handed over to customs officials.
