Follow govt protocol before sending Vande Bharat crew residents of Noida: Gautam Buddh Nagar DM to Air India

Gautam Buddh Nagar: The Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration on Saturday said that it has requested national carrier Air India regarding its staff residing in Noida over the ongoing ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ to evacuate stranded Indians abroad.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate has told Air India that its crew who are part of the repatriation process and are living in the district must follow the central government’s quarantine protocols and only after that should they permitted to come back to the district.

“Air India pilots and other crew are corona warriors and I want to clarify that no one has been asked to stay in Delhi. It has been requested to Air India that those corona warriors who bring the Indian nationals back from abroad, when the crew members come back to their homes, it is our and their collective responsibility to protect the health of their family and other residents. So we have requested Air India that the crew comes back to their homes only after following the protocol of screening and testing,” Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj said, according to news agency ANI.

India began its repatriation process to bring back stranded Indians from other countries on May 7 and the second phase of that is set to kick-off next week.

“The Air India has also accepted it and has informed that when the crew comes they will be screened, tested and quarantined in Delhi and only after that will be sent to Gautam Buddh Nagar district,” the DM added.
