Jammu airport sees 351 passengers in five flights

Jammu: Amid lockdown in the country, 351 passengers travelled to and from the Jammu airport in five flights today as the airport resumes operations after two months.
Out of total eight flights scheduled from the Jammu airport on Monday, three were cancelled by the airlines from their origin airports and rest five operated with limited passengers on board.

Operations started at 8.40 am with the arrival of Air India flight from Delhi, in which 24 passengers came, following four more flights — SpiceJet from Delhi, SpiceJet from Srinagar, Air India from Srinagar and Indigo from Delhi — in which total 171 passengers arrived in Jammu.

All the passengers were sampled for Covid-19 and later sent to quarantine centres by the UT administration.

180 passengers have also travelled to Srinagar and Delhi from Jammu in the same aircraft.

“The operations were conducted in safe and secure atmosphere. All the SOPs were properly followed and proper sanitisation of passengers and baggage was done,” said Pravat Ranjan Beuria, Director, Airport, Jammu.
