Kochi: Airlines to resume domestic flights from Monday

Kochi: With the civil aviation ministry permitting domestic air travel in the country in a calibrated manner starting Monday, the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has geared up to ensure the smooth resumption of operations.
A total of 113 services, arrivals, and departures included are scheduled for CIAL over the week. The airlines are, however, permitted to operate only 30% of their total services mentioned in the summer schedule.
Between May 25 and June 30, flights will be operated between Kochi and cities of Bangalore, Mysore, Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad, Agatti, Kannur, Kozhikode, Mumbai, and Chennai. The airlines that would operate from Kochi are Indigo, Air Asia, Air India Express, Alliance Air, SpiceJet, Vistara, and Air India.

The domestic departures will start at 5.40 am with an Indigo flight to Bangalore. An Air Asia flight from Bangalore that is scheduled to land at 7 am is the first domestic arrival.

Elaborate preparations following the Covid-19 health protocol are put in place, informed the authorities. Security checks, check-in, identification, and verification of passengers, etc will be done with the help of technology at the domestic terminal.

All passengers have to follow the guidelines given by the state and central government and web-check-in and installation of the Aarogya Setu app are mandatory. Passengers can enter the terminal four hours before departure and reporting have to be done before two hours.
Passengers going to other states will have to follow the guidelines given by the respective destination state and travel passes should be secured if required. Passengers reaching Kochi will have to undergo the 14-mandatory home quarantine. International passengers who reach Kochi after landing in other states will have to be in institutional quarantine if they have not undergone quarantine before reaching Kochi.
