Patna Airport Opens for Business After Two Months

Patna: Sixty-three days after the last flight took off or landed at the Patna Airport, the first plane, following some relaxation in Coronavirus lockdown rules a few days ago, landed at the Jaya Prakash International Airport in the state capital at 7:40 am carrying 166 passengers from New Delhi.
Soon flights carrying stranded Biharis in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Amritsar also arrived at the Patna Airport bringing a total of 1581 passengers on Monday as eleven flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Amritsar took off carrying a total of 892 passengers.
The last plane to depart Patna Airport was an Indigo flight carrying 68 passengers to Mumbai.
Meanwhile, the administration had made elaborate arrangement to keep the airport clean with strict enforcement of social distancing between the passengers forming line to check in or check out of the airport. All the passengers and their belongings were subjected to thermal screening and sanitization before being allowed inside the building.
Among the flights arriving at the Patna Airport on Monday were a single flight of Air India, five flights of Spice Jet and five flights of Indigo Airlines.
