Repatriation flight of Air India lands at Karippur airport

Malappuram: As part of the massive repatriation exercise named 'Vande Bharat Mission' to evacuate stranded Indian nationals in other countries, IX344 Air India Express flight carrying a total 182 expatriates including five infants from Dubai(UAE) landed at Karippur International Airport around 10.35pm.
Among the passengers the most number of people are from Malappuram district. Others are from Kozhikode, Palakkad, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasargod, Kottayam, Alappuzha and Thiruvananthapuram districts.
According to the official sources, those who require emergency medical care, pregnant women, children below ten and four persons who are senior citizen would be allowed home quarantine. They would be under the surveillance of health authorities. The asymptomatic persons from the district would be shifted to Covid Care Centre arranged at Safa Hospital in Kalikavu near Nilambur, where 100 isolation rooms are ready to accommodate pravasis. The passengers from other districts would be shifted to their home districts in KSRTC buses and taxi vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Malappuram natives who landed in Nedumbassery airport in Abudhabi-Kochi Air India Express flight would be sent to isolation centre arranged in Calicut University hostel in Thenhipalam.
