Kochi: Expertise Contracting Co Ltd, a leading employer of Indians in the Middle East, is on a large repatriation exercise with more than 2,000 workers being sent back to their home countries on chartered flights. Of the 12 flights meant for repatriation, nine will be heading to India and one will be landing in Kochi today (Wednesday) with nearly 200 Malayalis on board.
Of the nine flights chartered by the Saudi Arabia-based company for India, six have already reached the destinations - Chennai and Hyderabad on Jun 5, Ahmedabad and Delhi on June 6 and Mangalore and Chennai on Sunday. The flights, chartered from Gulf Air and being operated from the city of Dammam in KSA, also include the ones covering three other neighbouring countries. The whole operation will conclude on Thursday, when the final flight reaches Mangalore.
