Flights Middle Seat Controversy: High Court, Supreme Court, DGCA, Ministry Orders | All You Need to Know

New Delhi: The civil aviation ministry was not in favour of keeping the middle seats of an aeroplane empty, minister Hardeep Singh Puri had clarified it before domestic flights resumed operations from May 25. It was not mentioned in the SOP issued by the ministry as well. But then DGCA on May 31 issued a circular asking the airlines to keep the middle seats empty as much as possible.
The case has already been heard by the Supreme Court and the Bombay High Court.
