Kerala: CIAL to operate repatriation flights from more countries

Kochi: Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL), the airport is gearing up to receive more flights from new sectors. Both Air India and Air India express are planning more international flights from cities that remain intact so far. The Air India flight from the East African country Djibouti will land at Kochi airport at 1945 on 5 June. The National carrier will operate Vietnam-Bombay-Kochi flight on 07 June, Cairo-Bombay-Kochi flight on 16 June, Kiev-Delhi-Kochi flight on 19 June, London-Bombay-Kochi flight on 22 June, and Cebu (The Philippines)-Bombay-Chennai-Kochi flight on 23 June apart from their scheduled operations.

Meanwhile, the repatriation flights from Dubai and Kuwait reached Kochi on Tuesday evening with 369 passengers. The Air India Express flight (IX 434) from Dubai reached CIAL at 6.01pm with 184 passengers including 7 infants. The repatriation flight from Kuwait (IX 1496) reached CIAL at 7.34 pm with 185 passengers including, 8 infants.

While all the passengers of the Kuwait flight were asymptomatic, one passenger in Dubai flight was symptomatic, who was later sent to Ernakulam Medical College.
