Manipur: Flight services resume with maximum 5 planes per day

Imphal: Passenger flight services in Manipur have been resumed from various cities across India, with five flights landing at Imphal Airport on Monday.

Earlier, following the request from the state government owing to rapid rise of COVID-19 cases and a huge backlog of samples, the Union ministry of civil aviation allowed to operate a single passenger flight service from Delhi to Imphal from June 18 to 28.

While briefing media persons on Sunday, chief minister N Biren Singh stated that the huge backlog of approximately 15,000 samples to be tested has been cleared during the last 10 days' period and fresh samples collected from the new returnees will be tested within 24 hours.
