Navy chopper makes precautionary landing at school premises in Kochi after technical snag

Kochi: A Navy helicopter made precautionary landing at school premises in a coastal village near Kochi after it developed a technical glitch on Tuesday.

The crew comprising two pilots is safe, PTI reported, quoting defence spokesman.

Indian Navy's Chetak helicopter, airborne from the Naval Air Station Garuda, made a precautionary safe landing at St Mary's School premises, Chellanam at 12:04 pm. The chopper developed a technical problem when it was on a routine sortie.

A team of Navy officials has been reached the location to take stock of the situation and provide assistance.

The aircraft will be brought back to the naval base by road, the spokesperson said.
