Air India warns travel agents against over-charging flyers for Vande Bharat flights

New Delhi: Air India has warned travel agents against overcharging for its Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) flights. The airline had recently allowed sale of VBM tickets on other channels also after reports of people facing troubles in buying the same only from its website.

AI will publicise fares of different sectors of these flights on its websites to ensure people know what the rates are and they do not pay more than that. It also said that agents found over-charging will lose their authorisation to sell AI tickets.
“Over the past few days, AI has received many complaints through social media and other channels about fares being overcharged by certain travel agents from distressed passengers. Needless to say being the flag carrier of the country, AI takes such matters seriously… causing inconvenience to passengers is of great concern to us. Keeping the above into consideration, Air India shall be publishing the fares under VBM on its website,” AI said in a circular titled “sale done by travel agents for VBM flights” issued on Wednesday.
