Bengaluru: Bangalore International Airport Limited is likely to build two proposed Metro stations - Airport City Station and KIA Terminals - at Kempegowda International Airport.
This was disclosed in the recent Environmental Impact Assessment report prepared by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd for Asian Development Bank - funding agency of the airport-Metro corridor. Of two Metro stations in the airport area, one will be at grade (Airport City Station) and the other below ground level (KIA Terminals). BIAL designed the stations, the report said. BIAL is also planning a 52,000 sqm multi-modal transportation hub in front of the proposed terminal 2 forecourt. It will integrate the existing terminal (north) and proposed terminals 2 and 3 (east and west).
