Fijian Man Dies In Repatriation Flight From India

A 43-year-old man returning from India after a medical treatment passed away onboard the  Garuda Indonesia aircraft.
Mohammed Rashid was one of the 112 passengers on the repatriation flight from India, which arrived at the Nadi International Airport on Wednesday evening.
The rest of the passengers are now quarantined at the Government-funded facilities at Nadi
The late Mr Rashid was accompanied by a cousin to India four months ago.
He had sold his house before leaving for India. He was a businessman and operated a mechanical garage at Sovi Bay, Nadroga.
Elder brother and businessman, Mohammed Mazid, 47, said their family was looking forward to his brother’s return.
“It is a sad loss for our family, he was my young brother. He was a good and caring brother” Mr Mazid said.
“I am not too sure of his sickness, but I knew that he had short breath, which required treatment in India.
