Malappuram: Amid row over the gold smuggling racket in Kerala, four persons were arrested at the Calicut International airport on Sunday for smuggling a total of 2.5 kilogram of gold, worth Rs.1.30 crore.
According to sources, the accused Kasaragod natives Muhammed Midlaj, Abdul Sathar, Muhammed Faisal and Thiruvananthapuram-native Simsmol reached the airport in chartered flight from Ras-al-Khaimah early on Sunday morning.
Separate cases have been registered against the four accused and are being investigated.
